In the IT industry, Security Professionals play the role of the policeman who makes the rules, and help enforce them.

- SCP (Security Certified Professional) is a Security Professional that is responsible for setting up and maintaining all the devices and software that protect the network from intrusions. The SCP will have very wide knowledge concerning security and will deal with lots of different scenarios and problems.
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) is a Security Professional that focuses on “trying to break in”. The CEH will learn all of the methods and use all the tools the actual malicious users will use to try and disrupt the peace of a computer system or network. They will take on the role of an intruder an constantly test the security of the system they are responsible for.
- CHFI (Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator) is a Security Professional that specializes in Post Incident Forensic Investigation. The CHFI will analyze and collect evidence after an intrusion occurred and compile a report to be used in court later.
